J. Press…okay you win

I was walking by the J. Press store today and decided I would check out their fall stuff. I’ll be honest J. Press doesn’t really innovate and truthfully should never need to. All everyone else is doing is trying to copy of J. Press stuff from the 60′s. Geez I bet Thom Browne would flip to get access to their archives. Oh well, just look at take ivy I guess.

J. Press is probably the only retailer who can continue to make some crazy looking ties with golfers on it as hip as can be. Honestly I think the whole “I want to wear my suit so tight people don’t take me seriously” trend is starting to retreat back to “I want to wear a suit because I’m a gentleman and I have nothing to prove” good stuff. There was a lot of confidence in the 50′s and 60′s with mens fashion, no distracting Rick Owens no annoying Raf Simons. Some would argue that’s unfortunate  but I just want to know if people will look back in 50 years to Rick Owens stuff and wonder why they never kept their ultra long oversized jersey knit goth shirt.

I just hope people see through the impersonators who are trying to re-invent the wheel and stick with the real mccoy.
