Legends: Jack Lemmon

Jack Lemmon in my humble opinion was one of the finest actors to grace the silver screen.

Born in an elevator (yes an elevator) in Newton, Massachusetts. He was raised in a moderately upper class home while his father was the president of a doughnut company. Later, Lemmon attended Harvard and joined The U.S. Navy.

Jack starred in movies with Marilyn Monroe and his production company produced a little movie you might’ve heard of called Cool Hand Luke.

His career led him to Broadway and he even recorded an album in 1958 playing piano and singing jazz.

His work got the best of him at times and he became an alcoholic- always crediting the problems he had to the characters he played.

“I am particularly susceptible to the parts I play… If my character was having a nervous breakdown, I started to have one”

Sadly he passed away in 2001 losing a battle to cancer.

The man is a legend in his life and style.

Check out some of his movies Some Like It Hot, The Great Race, & The Odd Couple
