Now and again you come across a record that isn’t only great but, it does more for you than other records you’ve heard in ages.
“I’m New Here” by Gil Scott-Heron has had me going back and replaying these songs over and over.
It’s a deep record.
For those of you who haven’t heard of Gil Scott Heron many consider him a pioneer of African American hip hop and soul music. He started out in the late 60′s and early 70′s with spoken word and has since changed the way we study poetry and spoken word music.
