Michael Bastian F/W 2010

Sunday night L.A.S. and I headed over to Exit Art to see the Michael Bastian show.

Few quick notes on the show before I dive in.

1. Really well done, a nice mix of british punk, american style and italian tailoring (cuccinelli).

2. John Malkovich was there = double awesome (pic from my twitter account here)

A bit more..

Soundtrack started off with a Bloc Party remix of Helicopter and went into one of my favorite songs by the canadian band The Stills (still in love song).

Looks ranged from plaids, with studded belts and tartan Stubbs and Wooton slippers. Every look though you could tell was Michael Bastian, in a good way.

The British punkness was all there too with 10″ Dr Martens and hanging suspenders. Though I’m not the kind of “tuck your boots into pants” kind of guy, I really liked the looks.

My favorite thing about the entire show though was that every look had a subtle pop of color. Orange ties or socks, salmon colored pants, textured elbow pads.

To summarize? I loved it.
