Affordable Tweed
Being a fan of tweed, I’m always on the look out for it (yes, even in the summer). If I could wear tweed year round I pretty much would.
I’m not going to go over some long really cheesy explanation like “Each garment has a story!” and bla bla. I prefer used tweed jackets as they are generally cheaper and you don’t feel as bad when you take it apart and get it tailored etc.
One of my favorite places to buy vintage jackets is Vintage Whistles out of the UK.
Vintage Whistles has a great selection of suits, jackets and vintage accessories. The prices are usually really affordable too! (usually around £50) I like a jacket that’s been worn in and beaten up a bit. The tweed always feels a bit weathered and softer. Usually you’re getting a better jacket too! I don’t know why, but almost all of these have nicer unpadded shoulders. Wherever they are getting these I gotta find out.
They even have clothes from the 30′s 40′s etc. Though I’m not sure I can recommend something that old but oh well.
So get your tweed going before its October and they’re all gone!
Cravat optional…not for me though. I won’t wear one until I’m 60 and have my own chef!
“Two eggs over easy Oscar!”

killer find, these prices are right.

Word. Tweed was my go to on non-school blazer days. Huge fan of the 3/2 on tweed jackets though none are shown here. The 3/2 tweed is a classic Ivy look, and has been under appreciated in the current Ivy renaissance.
Dope Lapels on all of those!
