Now and again, my job allows me to travel around the globe. It’s quite strange to hop on a plane and wake up in a foreign country. As fun as it is, it can also be quite lonely, but I always try to be observant and aware of what’s around me.

As I’m sure most of you know, NASA is taking a breather for a while. The space race is virtually no more and is fast becoming privitazed.
You can argue whether that’s good or bad but I actually don’t really care. I’m just bummed there aren’t going to be more space watches.

But what was the first watch ever in space? Well that was a Russian watch called the Shturmanski (literally means Navigator).
It was worn by Juri Gagarin in 1961 and was actually just a watch that was issued to flight school graduates.
