This year they added a sportier version of their popular Bobcap!

I have a couple of the bobcaps and hands down, they are the best hats you can buy for the money. Keep you warm, look good and if your lady wears it it will hold the smell of her hair! (weird but everyone that reads this knows exactly what I mean)

Metropolitan (1990) & Their shetland sweaters

It’s now that part of summer that you just kind of want to go away.

Fall seems to be getting closer and closer, too bad it still can’t come fast enough.

And of the few pieces that I pull out of storage, I always look forward to my shetland sweater.

Well, how did I do? Are you feeling sentimental?

Nah, I’m not really either. I do like my sweater though.

Every year, stores like O’Connell’s and J. Press bring back their classic. Made in Scotland, shetland “shaggy” sweater. It’s a classic trad piece and something that honestly never goes out of style.

Ever…

I mean, why do you think these stores keep bringing them back year after year?

Grab one in cable knit or your standard brushed shaggy.

Yes, that is Gilligan alright

I’m not sure if its been the humidity or the near 90º temperatures in the city, but I’ve been grabbing a hat on my out lately.

Hats are a great way to play down or spruce up an outfit (yes this is true) and here are some spring/summer buckets from J. Press.

I’ve always been a big fan of the bucket hat, maybe its because you look like you should be on the beach, or on a fishing boat. Either or the bucket hat to me is a summer classic. Throw one on with a suit or a rugby, and most definitely the beach. Keep it simple and you’re good.

A Look : Fighting For Spring

This morning it snowed… now its nearing 40°F

Spring is chasing down winter in NYC today.

In my opinion this is the perfect outfit for one of those days. Most likely your office is blasting the heat to compensate the low temperature this morning. So it helps to have a lighter (I wear madras year round) shirt, some cotton cargos and dirty bucks. If you’re a wuss like me and you’re never warm enough you can wear a knit cap (one of my favorites)
