Yes it’s true that there are quite a few families of hand sewers (and yes I’m aware I’m on a bit of a shoe kick right now).

One of them, being Town View Leather in Maine. Owned and operated by Galen & Gayanne Wintle! Another company coming from a long generation of hand sewers.

These are some quality hand made moccasins at about less than half the cost of Quoddy!

In great quality leathers from calf skin to moosehide. Most of their moccs are double soled and they even do fleece lined slippers. A lot of their orders are custom and made to order. So if you get a wild idea of putting on a Vibram sole give them a call, I’m sure they’ll get you set up!

Rarely do I endorse shorts but, Mark McNairy’s is a great take and twist on the classic Patagonia Hiking shorts.

I love that snap-clasp and elastic waistband. Match that up with a zip pocket on the thigh and you’re ready for the concrete jungle…or wherever the heck you are when you wear them.

Made in America and in two colors, Khaki and Digi Camo! (more pics below)

Yes sir, its about time to get in shape for swimsuit season. I went running and did about 3 miles, all with one goal, to look good in my Birdwell’s. The best swimsuits on earth and made in the USA.

Founded in 1961 by Carrie Birdwell Mann, Birdwell Beach Britches are the perfect classic swimsuit. With their patented “surfnyl” fabric they have been the favorites of lifeguards and surfers for ages. Very little has changed, just check out their website and you’ll see what I mean .

Most folks they buy their Birdwell’s and only buy them once, as they last for years. These things just can’t be beat. When I first picked these up at a surf shop in NJ. The owner told me, “Ahh, Birdwell’s! I’ve had mine for 15 years now.”

I was really surprised – one because the swimsuit had lasted that long, the other because the man still fit in them for that long!

As you can see, the shorts fit quite well. A bit higher on the waist, with a standard 15″ outseam, and always double stitched with two layers of fabric. These things are just great.

Pretty affordable too, I picked these up for $40 bucks! Grab a pair and you’re set for life.

Note: they make them longer but really? Do you need them longer? Wear your shorts like a man.

I’ve been waiting to put this up for a while now, I know spring/summer just hit stores but these new kicks from Yuketen are the bees knees!

Angler Moccs, Hunting Boots, Maine Guides and even that slick red parka from Monitaly!

Ryan from Yuketen modeling the parka and carrying a gun actually? ha

Yuketen is one of those brands that most folks have “seen around” but really forget how amazing the quality and construction of the shoes are. The company was started by Yuki Matsuda, who immigrated from Japan to the US to study shoes and american craftsmanship.

Yes, yes I know most of you are like I’m aware of this show me the kicks already!

This is one of my favorites – the “Ghillie Hunt Boot”, made with an unbelievably durable scotch grain leather on a natural crepe sole.

Scotch grain leather is such a versatile leather as it can look really rugged and casual like this, or elegant on a pair of long wings.

The Maine Guide Boot is now a staple part of the F/W collection, look for this in cordovan in a couple stores soon! (will probably be crazy expensive)

More hunt boots, this time with a strap, I dig!

Also you can’t expect them to always make the most conservative collection can you?

Of course not, so they also have loafers like this…
